Khiva spreads its love far and wide when they opened their new outlet in Pune, Phoenix Market City. Now Punekar has also got a place to rejoice. The new outlet is totally a place to enjoy some great tandoori dishes, that would leave you spell bound.
The place is calm and cozy and perfect to be visited with your group of friends or loved ones. It has distinct hues of brown, and wooden. There are some nice paintings on the wall showing the perfect hidden Rajasthan.
We started with some appetizers:
Chooze Ka Shorba (Chicken) and Yakhini Shorba (Mutton): Depending on what you prefer the most order your shorba kind, both are cooked perfectly in Indian spices with a hint of lemon and mint. They are perfect to start your meal.
Peshawari Paneer Tikka: The Paneer is fresh and cooked in Peshawari style having Kastoori Methi and Yellow chilies. It’s delicious yet not spicy and looks scrumptious.
Chandni Kebab: Boneless chicken marinated in yogurt, malai and Cashewnut, grilled in Tandoor and garnished with melted cheese. Highly recommended and do have while it’s hot.
Barra Kebab Lazeez: Lamb chops are marinated in Pepper and their secret spice Kachiri, the chops are char-grilled to perfection. The lamb is tender and can be eaten without difficulty.
Galawati Kebab: Perfect as it can be! The perfectly minced lamb is cocoked in Indian spices and served on a paratha in an authentic way, totally a must to order.
Along with the appetizers we tried, Khiva Sunrise: Crushed ice is poured with Strawberry and Mango juice into half, the colourful mocktail goes well with the appetizers.
For main course we ordered: Gosht Ki Dum Biryani: The Biryani is slow cooked in Saffron flavoured basmati rice. The Indian spices are spot on and done in Dum style. Along with Biryani, you are also served Honey and Yogurt raita, and Burhani (this is basically like Mirchi ka Salan) both the dips goes well with the biryani.
Nalli Ka Salan: Tender pieces of Nalli are cooked perfectly in brown based gravy. Daal khiva: It’s thick, creamy and delicious for sure.
In Indian breads there were Khameeri ki Roti which is soft thick fermented roti goes well with Nalli ka Salan, Trikoni missi roti: This is in triangular shape, thick and a little tough. Laccha Paratha, exactly how it should be!
In desserts we had: Kulfi Laccha Rabri, Zaffrani Angoori Rasmalai and Phirni: All the desserts are toothsome. Each one is done in a more traditional way and have the perfect flavor and taste. Try any or all and you won’t regret for sure.
A new outlet in Pune with the same old traditional taste and ingredients used, a place that you can definitely try anytime and with anyone.
